Made it to Kennedy Home!

"...Jesus said, β€œLet the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14)

After another 21 miles today, I completed the second leg of my journey, and made it Baptist Children's Homes of NC Kennedy Home in Kinston. While here we had the opportunity to meet Krystal Redick. She and her husband are house parents for the girls cottage. She told us the story of how they became house parents, and even took the time to show us around the campus. You could tell by talking to her how much she enjoys pouring into the lives of the girls. Many children are in tough situations and need a little love, support, and encouragement in order to get there lives on the right track. Today, the route I had planned to walk had a bridge that was out. In order to continue without having to take a 9 mile detour, I had to get my wife to pick me up and drive me 9 miles, and place me on the other side of the bridge so that I could continue. I needed support and help in order to get back on the right path. That is what so many children need. They need loving Christians like Krystal and her husband to point them to Christ and guide them onto the right path of life. I have been so blessed to get to know the men and women who serve so selflessly at BCH, and I am so thankful for this ministry. Please pray for Krystal and all the great people of BCH, and for the hundreds of children they serve every day.
