Child Hosting Program

Mid July - Mid August, 2025

Through our Child Hosting Program, families host a Filipino child or children in their home for four weeks from mid-July to mid-august. These are boys and girls who have been praying for their forever families and have yet to be adopted within their home country or by a family internationally. You will have the support of Christian Adoption Services as well as area churches during these four weeks.

You do not have to be ready to adopt in order to be a host family. You simply need to have the heart for what God wants to do through international adoption.

We praise God that we experienced a 100% success rate and that all five orphans who participated in the Child Hosting Program are in the process of being adopted!

  • The main goal of the Child Hosting Program is to connect children with Christian families who may consider adoption. Hosting a child for four weeks during the summer offers numerous blessings, including the opportunity for the child to live within a family setting, learn the love of Jesus, engage in new experiences like attending sporting events or visiting a zoo, swimming in the ocean for the first time, and experience hope for the future. Child hosting raises awareness in the community about the orphan crisis, highlighting the importance of finding permanent homes for these often-overlooked children. For families, participating in child hosting presents a chance to overcome any hesitations about welcoming an older child or a sibling group. It is an opportunity to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) to make disciples of all nations through hosting these international children.

There are roughly 153 million orphans worldwide according to UNICEF and every day, this number radically grows by the thousands. Each month we see children in our Philippines adoption program who are legally available on the Special Home Finding list waiting without being selected by potential adoptive families. Our goal is to provide these children, who are considered hard to place due to factors like age, sibling group status, or having some special need, with more opportunities to find loving families.

The Child Hosting Program is scheduled to run from mid-July to mid-August, with specific dates subject to confirmation pending approval from the Philippines Central Authority, visa issuance, and airfares booked.

  • There are 34 identified children, ages 9-16, including sibling groups, who are excellent candidates and are waiting for this opportunity. Some of our international team members have had the privilege to meet several of the children identified and have current information, photos and videos to share.

  • The main goal of CAS in the child hosting program is to connect children with Christian families who may consider adoption. If a family feels called to host, they would following the following steps:

    1. Have an inquiry meeting with an international team member to thoroughly discuss the program and review the program handbook.

    2. Complete a confidentiality agreement and begin discussing potential children for a soft match.

    3. Decide the path of a home study or psychosocial assessment and complete an application. Submit supportive documents and begin trainings.

    4. Prepare to welcome your child and connect with other CAS host families.

    5. Host your child for four weeks as well as host the child’s escort for a few days. Have fun!!

    6. Provide weekly progress reports along with photos and videos.

    7. Say goodbye to your host child after the four weeks and then prayerfully decide if you wish to move forward with an adoption.

  • Families from North and South Carolina are welcome to inquire with our international adoption team regarding becoming a host family. We ask that host families be willing to open their hearts and homes to the host the child and meet their physical, psychological, social and emotional needs.

Many of the children have expressed their longing for a family to share meals with, play games, and attend church together. If you think this is something you could fulfill for a child, then you are likely a great candidate to be a host family.

  • We have strived to make costs as minimal as possible for families and those that move forward with an adoption, will received an agency program fee reduction. You can view the fee schedule here.
