Hope & Purpose in Jesus Christ

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

"...in the saving of souls, God works by means; and while the present economy of grace shall stand, God will be pleased by the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe. When God works without instruments, He is glorified; but He has selected this plan of human involvement as being that by which He is most magnified in the earth." - Alistair Begg

When I read the above devotion this morning before heading out, I had no idea that what I read would be put into practice, but that is exactly what the Lord did. While standing on a street corner in Elizabethtown this afternoon I was approached by a man named Eric who asked me what I was doing, and why I was walking. It gave me an opportunity to share with him about CAS and why I am doing this walk. He proceeded to tell me that he wished he had something purposeful to do in his life. That gave me an opportunity to share about how Hope and Purpose are found in Faith in Christ. He then told me that he just felt lost. I told him that actually, that is what the Bible says about all of us before Christ, "All we like sheep have gone astray;..." That confessing our sin and trusting in Christ alone is the only answer to fill the void we feel in our hearts before a relationship with Jesus. After sharing the Gospel and Praying with him, I encouraged him to visit Lake Church at White Lake where he lives. The pastor of Lake Church is Cameron McGill. He and his wife have graciously given our family accommodation at their Christian Camp while we are here at White Lake, and we are so thankful. Please pray that Eric will come to faith in Christ.

Well, I made it to White Lake this afternoon. Another 26 miles completed. I am so thankful for the great weather today that the Lord blessed us with. Thank you for continued prayers for me and my family as we continue this journey.
