Social Events
Annual Adoption Celebration
This annual event provides an excellent opportunity for adults to socialize and children to meet with others who share a common heritage while also allowing those waiting parents to meet and encourage each other. In addition to friends, food, and fun, a highlight of the day is the introduction of families who have taken placement within the last year and hearing them share the miracle of how God orchestrated their adoptive placement. This event is held each year during National Adoption Month (November). Please join the CAS staff and board for the fun!
Annual Birthmother Retreat
The relationship between the pregnancy counselors and their clients often becomes somewhat personal since they meet often over the course of the pregnancy. With the goal of encouraging the mothers-to-be to identify goals, set objectives, and plan for their future, periodic communication is maintained with these ladies to provide information and counseling as requested. The frequency and timing of the meetings is determined by the pregnant women based on their needs.
CAS provides a weekend retreat for birth mothers every fall. During this special time pregnancy counselors and birth mothers come together to share adoption stories and the impact that the adoption has had on their lives. The retreat includes a time during which professional counselors and clinicians hold a workshop empowering these women with the encouragement and tools that they need to lead a fulfilled life. No retreat would be complete without the theme based decorations and crafts as well as outdoor activities.
